I cannot recommend Jaro enough for rolfing. He is a humble, patient and jolly person who makes the sessions something to look forward to. Yet he is professional and provides un-rushed high quality treatment. I have benefitted greatly and would recommend him to anyone seeking treatment of injury.
LONG VERSION: I came to Jaro to see if he could help me with a shoulder and knee injury. The shoulder was the worst to a point where I had reduced mobility and even rotating the forearm while brushing teeth caused pain. After the first session I felt a immediate difference and sessions thereafter just added more and more improvement. Today I am at least 80% pain-free and mobility has gone to a point that I haven’t seen in years. Jaro has given me so much explanation and advice that I feel that I can still continue optimising my shoulder issues. With my knee injury the pain is virtually gone and again I have gained a new level of awareness of what’s going on in my movement that potentially could have caused the injury. My main issue with the knee is that it had a tendency to go inwards when doing a pistol squat (single leg squat) or similar motion. Again Jaro has given me several ideas that I can work with going forward to assist me in my exercise routine – and these ideas came directly from the treatment observations, so specific to my body. Going forward I’m going to challenge my knee very gradually over time. Personal advice when going for rolfing: I believe you will see greater benefit if you take some time to be more aware of your body and how it feels inside, especially if you can focus on your injury area. This is because, and again personal experience, rolfing can really help you explore your body and therefore give you different perspectives on your movement, posture and help you get to know your injury. And this is where Jaro comes in, he has a really good way of articulating what’s going on. In a nutshell, if you’re going for rolfing go for Jaro!
